ORDINANCE NO. 3261
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF
AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION 18.31(59)(c) AND 18.31(80)
AS THEY NOW EXIST AND ENACTING NEW SUBSECTIONS 18.31(59)(c)
AND 18.31(80) FOR THE PURPOSE OF DESIGNATING A 2:00 A.M. TO
6:00 A.M. PARKING PROHIBITION ALONG THE METERED PARKING
AREAS ON LINCOLN WAY AND HAYWARD AVENUE; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; ESTABLISHING A PENALTY
AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa is hereby amend-
ed by repealing Subsections 18.31(59)(c) and 18.31(80) and enacting new Subsec-
tions as follows:
11(59)(c) Parking is prohibited on both sides between the hours of 2:00
a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from Lincoln Way to Chamberlain.
(80)(a) Parking is prohibited at all times on both sides from the east
corporation limits to the west corporation limits, provided howev-
er, a single line of parallel parking will be permitted on the
parking lane on the south side from mid-block between Sheldon
Avenue and Hayward Avenue easterly to Lynn Avenue, except for
a distance of ten (10) feet west and five (5) feet east of any
intersecting street line.
(b) Parking is prohibited between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from
Lynn Avenue to Sheldon Avenue."
Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall constitute
a simple misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $100 or by imprisonment
for not more than 30 days.
Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
shall be repealed to the extent of such conflict if any.
Section Four. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as required by law.
