HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Revising parking regulations on Hayward Avenue, increasing snow route section ORDINANCE NO. 3230 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTION 22.10(3)(k) AND REENACTING THE SAME TO INCREASE THE PORTION OF HAYWARD AVENUE DESIGNATED AS "SNOW ROUTE 2:00 A.M. TO 6:00 A.M."; REPEALING SUBSECTION 18.31(59) AND REENACTING THE SAME TO REVISE PARKING REGULA- TIONS ON HAYWARD AVENUE BETWEEN CHAMBERLAIN STREET AND MORTENSEN ROAD; PROVIDING A PENALTY AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa: Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa is hereby amended by repealing Subsection 22.10(3)(k) and reenacting that subsection revised to read as follows: "(k) Hayward Avenue from the south line of Lincoln Way to the south line of Chamberlain Street; and, on the east side only, from the south line of Chamberlain Street to 204.3' south of the south line of Storm Street." Section Two. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa is amended by repealing subsection 18.31(59) and reenacting that subsec- tion revised to read as follows: "(59) Hayward Avenue. (a) Parking is prohibited at all times for a distance of 100 feet south of the south line of Lincoln Way on the east side, and a distance of 22 feet south of the south line of Lincoln Way on the west side. (b) Parking is prohibited at all times on the west side from the south line of Chamberlain Street (extended) to 204.3' south of the south line Storm Street. (c) Parking is prohibited on the east side between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from the south line of Chamberlain Street to 204.3' south of the south line of Storm Street. (d) Parking on the east side from Chamberlain Street to 204.3' south of the south line of Storm Street, is limited to four hours." Section Three. Violation of this ordinance shall constitute a simple misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $100 or by im- prisonment for not more than 30 days. Section Four. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith shall be repealed to the extent of such conflict if any. • r Section Five.
