AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SEC. 18.27 AND EN-
ACTING A NEW 18.27 FOR THE PURPOSE OF BRINGING THE
CODE LANGUAGE INTO CONFORMANCE WITH THE
PROCEDURE ADOPTED IN CHAPTER 8, THE FIRE
CODE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; ESTABLISHING A PENALTY AND SETTING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa is
hereby amended by repealing Sec. 18.27 and enacting a new Sec. 18.27
as follows:
"Sec. 18.27. FIRE LANES.
Parking is prohibited at all times in fire lanes desig-
nated by the Fire Inspector and Fire Chief and marked and
signed as such."
Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall
constitute a simple misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $100
or by imprisonment for not more than 30 days.
Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith shall be repealed to the extent of such conflict if any.
Section Four. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publication as required by law.
