ORDINANCE NO. 3212
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, ADOPTED BY SECTION 29.5
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA;
CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED
AND SHOWN ON SAID MAP AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 29.6
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa:
Section 1: The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa,
adopted by Section 29.5 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Ames, Iowa, is amended by changing the boundaries of the
districts established and shown on said Map in the manner
authorized by Section 29.6 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described property be rezoned from R-3
(Medium-Density Residential) zoning district to G-I (General
Industrial) zoning district:
Beginning at the Southeast Corner of Lot "B", Block 2, Lew
Cole's Subdivision to Ames, Iowa; Thence West Along the South
Line of Said Lew Cole's Subdivision to the Southwest Corner of Lot
10, Block 2 said Lew Cole's Subdivision; Thence North Along
West Line of Said Lot 10, a Distance of 16 Feet to the Southeast
Corner of Lot 5 of Cole's Subdivision of Part of Block 1,
Underwoods Addition to Ames, Iowa; Thence Northwesterly to a
Point on the West Line of Said Lot 5, Said Point Being 135 Feet
South of the Northwest Corner of Said Lot 5; Thence West to a
Point on the West Line of Lot 2 of Said Cole's Subdivision Said
Point Being 135 Feet South of the North Line of Said Lot 2;
Thence Southwesterly to a Point on the South Line of Lot 2,
Block 1, Underwood's Addition to Ames, Iowa, Said Point Being
167 Feet East of the Southwest Corner of Said Lot 2; Thence
South 8 Feet to the Centerline of the East-West Alley of Johnson's
Addition to Ames, Iowa; Thence West Along the Centerline of Said
Alley to the Centerline of Crawford Avenue; Thence South Along
the Centerline of Crawford Avenue to the Centerline of East 5th
Street; Thence East Along the Centerline of East 5th Street to the
East Line of Said Johnson's Addition; Thence Continuing East
Along Said Centerline if Extended a Distance of 786 Feet; Thence
North to the Point of Beginning. All of the Above Described
Property Being a Part of the SE 1/4 Section 2 T 83 N, R 24 W of

That the following described property be rezoned from R-2 (Low
Density Residential) to G-I (General Industrial):
Beginning at the Northwest Corner of Lot 6, Block 36, Second
Addition to Ames, Story Co. Iowa; Thence South Along the West
Line Said Lot 6 and West Line Extended to the Centerline of East
Fifth Street Thence East Along the Centerline of East Fifth Street
to the Centerline of Crawford Avenue; Thence North Along the
Centerline of Crawford Avenue 155 feet; Thence West to the
Northeast Corner of Lot 4, Block 36 of Said Addition; Thence
West Along the North Line Said Lot 4 to the Northwest Corner
Lot 4; Thence Continuing West to the Centerline of the North and
South Alley of Block 36; Thence South Along the Centerline of
Said Alley 60 Feet; Thence West to the Northeast Corner of Said
Lot 6; Thence Continuing West Along the North Line of Said Lot
6 to the Point of Beginning.
Section 2: All other ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
Section 3: This ordinance is in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and publication as provided by law. ,
