Paul Goodland Mayor, City of Ames 515 Clark Avenue, Box 811 Ames, Iowa 50010 Dear Mayor Goodland: This is to acknowledge the receipt of Don Jackson's correspondence dated December 9, 1991 which responded to our October 7, 1991 letter concerning deficiencies in the City,,-- administration of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) . In partial response to our letter, the City provided documentation to address those deficiencies. The information has been reviewed and the following comments are provided: 1. The proposed flood plain management ordinance is scheduled to be adopted in January, 1992 . Please submit a copy of the signed ordinance to our office by March 20, 1992. 2. The College Creek floodway change has been resolved and was addressed in our October 7, 1991 letter. 3. The City's request for a May 1, 1992 extension for the fill removal at 511 Maple Street is granted. Please provide evidence of the removal by that date. 4. The seven elevation certificates are sufficient in meeting our request. Our office anticipates the receipt of the remaining information (numbers 1 and 3 above) within the specific time frames.
