REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO DISPOSAL OF
LEAVES AND GRASS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES City of Ames
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; ESTABLISHING A
PENALTY AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE,DATE. Ordinance # 3155
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for
the City of Ames, Iowa: Section One. The
Municipal Code of the City�mes, Iowa
is hereby amended by: ' (a) Adding the
following as Subsection 10.8(3)(d):
"Leaves and grass may be disposed of by 1
delivery to a site for composting or land was published in said newspaper for
application, or delivery to any person who
can be reasonably expected to cause com-
posting or land application of the leaves consecutive weeks, the first

tion." Section Two. The Municipal Code 4otary Public
of the City o Ames, Iowa is further in and for the State Of Iowa
amended by repealing Section 10.21 thereof
and re-enacting the same to read as fol-
lows: "Sec. 10.21. DISPOSAL FACILITIES Fees,$ 2 7 . 0 7
ESTABLISHED; UNLAWFUL TO USE OTHER AREAS,
PENALTY. There are hereby established
authorized disposal facilities at such
place or places as the city council may
direct where garbage, refuse and yard
waste shall be disposed of within the City
of Ames. It shall be unlawful to dispose
of garbage, refuse or yard waste, except
leaves and grass, in any other place. The
disposal facilities are for the exclusive
use of the residents of the incorporated
limits of the City of Ames and residents
of such areas which have by contract or
license from the City of Ames obtained the
right to use such facilities. The use of
these facilities may be refused to any and
all other persons. Violations of this
section or section 10.9 shall be a munici-
pal infraction punishable by a minimum,,
fine of not less than $100 for the,first
offense and $200 for each repeat viola-
tion."Section Three. Violation of the
provisions o t is ordinance shall consti-
tute a municipal infraction, punishable as
set out in Section 1.9, Ames Municipal
Code. Section Four. This ordinance shall
be in fu1T o ce and effect from and after
its passage and publication as required by
law.
