Comments on E . 6th (east of Crawford ) as you delibprate ycur staf
recommendation.
1 . The area in trend and character reflects R-2 usage ( 18 single
family homes, 1 duplex , and 3 multi-units)
2. There are 18 single family homes in the block and ir
average assessed value is $48,800.
3. ALL HOMES ARE IN GOOD REPAIR.
4 historically/architectura] ly
significant . The rest nf the homes reflect the architect:ral '
styles of the late 1940's and 1950's.
5. There would be no non-conforming structures in an R-2
designaticn.
Leaving the area R-3 says our community believes that the
affordabIe housing stock (all in gond repair ) in place is rot the
best usage of the land . Rather redevelopment should occur and
the housing stock should be torn down.
WHERE AND HOW CAN THE CITY REPLACE 18 HOMES AT $48.800?
We be] ieve this is a socio-economic issue that reflects our
commonity `s concern for low and moderate income familiss.
Also--
Leaving the 300-400 block :f E . th as me ` um densi y .neans all
traffic must flow th rough ] uw density areas to reach Duff ad E.
13t . We believe this is a serious planning cosideration.
