HomeMy WebLinkAboutA002 - letter from Classic Uptown Emporiums dated January 7, 1991 first pr \ OP 0'THE J too f pyVN "Public Traditions — Downtown Ames" January 7, 1991 TOs Mayor Curtis and Members of the Ames City Council: I am in reciept of a letter from the City Clerk which states that an an amemdment to subsection 17. 16 (1) is in the works. This amendment will require that all bar in Ames post signs at the entrance(s) that states that persons under the age of 21 are not allowed on the premises. It is my suggestion that if such an amendment is passed that the City provide the signs. It is my opinion that the signs be uniform in language and size so that no confusion on the part of anyone is encountered. The only way that this can be accomplished is that the signs come from a single source. Signs should also state "unless accompanied by a parent or legal gaurdian" as provided for in the existing ordinance. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Bill Jepsen CEO FILED JAN 1 T MEMO • 203 - 205 Main, P.O. Box 484 Ames, Iowa 50010
