AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTIONS
26.62(u) and 26.62(ee) AS THEY NOW EXIST AND ENACTING
NEW SUBSECTIONS 26.62(u) and 26.62(ee) FOR THE
PURPOSE OF AMENDING THE DESIGNATIONS ON LINCOLN
WAY AND SIXTH STREET AS THROUGH STREETS;
PROVIDING A PENALTY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames shall be and is
hereby amended by repealing Subsections 26.62(u) and 26.62(ee) and
enacting new Subsections 26.62(u) 26.62(ee) as follows:
"(u) Lincoln Way from the east corporate limits to the west
corporate limits, except at Duff Avenue, Kellogg
Avenue, Clark Avenue and Walnut Avenue, Grand
Avenue, Elm Avenue, Maple Avenue, Elwood Drive,
Beach Avenue, Knoll Road, Ash Avenue, Lynn Avenue,
Welch Avenue, Hayward Avenue, Sheldon Avenue, State
Avenue, Franklin Avenue, Marshall Avenue, Beedle
Drive and North and South Dakota Avenue.
(ee) Sixth Street from the west line of Duff Avenue to the
Squaw Creek Bridge, except at Douglas Avenue, Kellogg
Avenue, Clark Avenue, Grand Avenue and Brookridge
Avenue."
Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall
constitute a simple misdemeanor punishable by a tine of not more than
$100 or not more than 30 days in jail.
Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict, if any.
Section Four. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its publication as required by law.
