AN ORDINANCE, relating to sanitary sewer connections and abatement
of outdoor toilets.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA.
Section 1. That all owners of business and residence property located
within a sewer district of the City of Ames, shall connect
with the sanitary sewer.
Section 2. No outdoor toilets, privy, vault, cesspool or reservoir
into which a privy, water closet or sink is drained, shall
be established or permitted upon any property so situated
as to be accessable to the sanitary sewers of the city
of Ames.
Section 3. All outdoor toilets, privies, vaults, cesspools and reservoirs
now in use and located upon property accessable to the
sanitary sewers are hereby declared a nuisance and a menace
to the public health and the use of the same shall be
abolished and discontinued.
Section 4. All ordinances cr parts of ordinances inconsistant or in
conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5. Any person by himself or by his agent , who shall willfully
violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall
be punished by a fine not exceeding $100. 00 or by . imprison-
went not exceeding thirty days.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be published as provided by law,
and be in full force and effect from and after its public-
ation.

The above ordinance No. 309 was presented and received its first
reading.

ings omitted, and Ordinance No. 309 be placed upon its final passage.

The Mayor appointed S. A. Knapp as member of the Hospital Board to
fill the vacancy caused by the death of C. L. Siverly.
Moved by, Spinney: That the Mayor' s appointment be confirmed.

The Mayor made the appointment of Mr. Cure as motor policeman of
the City of Ames.
Moved by Brindley: That the Mayor ' s appointment be confirmed.
