AN ORDINANCE REPEALING
An Ordinance repealing Section .4
of Ordinance No. 234. Chapter 78,
Revised Ordinance of 1909, relating
to the de eeration of the Sabbath.
Be it Ordained by the City Council
of the City of Ames, Iowa.
Section 1. That Section 4 of Ordi- '
r-ance No. 234, Chapter 78 of the re- ,.
wised ordinances of 1909 relating to
the desecration of the Sabbath, read-
ing as follows:
"That it shall be unlawful for any
r theatrical,' opera or conce;t troupe
or company, or any person or per-
sons, to give any theatrical or op- "
t eratic performance or exhibition or
any concert of whatever name or•na-
ture, or any moving picture show `
3 within the City of Ames on the first
a day of the week, commonly called
1 "Sunday," for which money, or any
reward or compensation whatever is
in any manner, directly or iiidirectly
t demanded, charged or received for
admittance thereto, or to see or hear
the same, and every person violating
s the provisions of this section by tak-
t. Ing part in such performance, eshi-
z bition or concert, or aiding, assist-
ing or'procuring the same shall be
!. punished_ as hereinafter provided."
