HomeMy WebLinkAboutA013 - Letter dated February 13, 1989 from Deborah Fisher February 13, 1989 Members of Historic Preservation Commission: We would like to take this opportunity to voice our support of the application by the Historic Old Town Committee for desig- nation of the proposed historic district. We feel that designation of this area as an historic district will enhance and preserve the integrity of those parts of Ames instrumental in the development of the community. Like many of our neighbors, Ames has a rich history. Unlike many of our neighbors, the people who live and have lived in Ames have and will continue to have a measured effect on local, national and international development. The people who once lived in the historic houses that remain today have influenced the economic and social development of much of our world. In Iowa, and in Ames, their effect, their expertise and their example, remain immediate and their influence on people in this community should remain strong and intact. Their houses are an extension of their purpose and inspiration and we citizens are concerned with their preservation. We strongly encourage a positive recommendation to the Planning and Zoning Commission to designate the proposed area as an historic district ?James Fisher .. 7 Deborah Fisher 816 Duff Ames, Iowa REGE—WEn rr rE CITY OF AM ES IOWA DEPT, OF PLAfJ[:llt 6 Hp-USING
