HomeMy WebLinkAboutA001 - Letter from residents dated February 6, 1988 requesting street name change t 4815 Ross Road Ames, Iowa 50010 February b, 1988 Ms. Pat Brown 3212 West Street Ames, Iowa 50010 Dear Council Person Brown: The purpose of our letter is to request that the City change the name of the western of Ames most segment of Ross Road . We have experienced difficulty in having services delivered to our homes largely because of confusion over our street 's name. We live on the third, discontinuous segment of Ross Road . Because a third segment is unexpected , service delivery personnel have gone to the end of the second segment , not found our addresses, and assumed that they were mistakenly given the wrong address. We are the only two families currently occupying homes on the western most segment of Ross Road and we would very much like to have the street name changed to a name unique to the City of Ames . We suggest that the City call the street Idaho Circle because this name fits in with the other state, province, and city street names in our section of town. Further , Idaho Avenue will be the only entrance to our street in the Spring Valley Addition and hence Idaho Circle fits into street name motif of the neighborhood . However , we would not object to other Potential names so long as the name is unique to the City of Ames and it is easy to spell and pronounce. If you have any questions, please contact us. Sincerely Leslie and Tom Maze Nancy a d Dick Gaertner 4815 Ross Road 4819 Ross Road
