HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Prohibiting Parking on a Portion of Kellogg Avenue T , ORDINANCE NO. 2996 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA BY REPEALING SUBSECTION 18.31(66) AS IT NOW EXISTS AND ENACTING A NEW SUBSECTION 18.31(66) FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE WEST SIDE OF KELLOGG BETWEEN ELEVENTH STREET AND THIRTEENTH STREET; PROVIDING A PENAL- TY; REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa: Section One. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames shall be and is hereby amended by repealing Subsection 18.31(66) as it now exists and enacting a new Subsection 18.31(66) as follows: (66) KELLOGG AVENUE. Parking is prohibited on Mondays between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from Lincoln Way to Seventh Street. Parking is prohibited on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on the west side and on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays on the east side from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Seventh Street to Eleventh Street except for that portion of Kellogg Avenue between Eighth and Ninth Streets where parking shall be allowed on both sides of the street on Sundays. Parking is prohibited at all times on the west side of the street between Eleventh Street and Thirteenth Street. Parking is prohibited for more than five minutes between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the east side from Sixth Street to the first parking meter stall south of Sixth Street. Parking is prohibited for more than five minutes on the west side from Sixth Street to the north line of the east and west alley between Fifth and Sixth Streets. See also Sec. 18.25, Reserved for Official Vehicles." Section Two. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict, if any.
