ORDINANCE NO. 2910
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE
CLASSIFICATIONS OF CERTAIN LAND AS HEREIN DESCRIBED, REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section One. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames , Iowa, is
amended by rezoning from R-2 to H-M, land described as:
Beginning at the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Eleventh Street, thence
south along the centerline of Douglas Avenue to a point 33 feet west of the
northwest corner of Lot 5, Block 1 , Richmond ' s Addition, thence east 155.5
feet, thence south to the centerline of Tenth Street, thence west along the
centerline of Tenth Street to point 25 feet south of the centerline of the
alley bisecting Block 4, Duff's Addition, thence north along the centerline of
the alley in Block 4, Duff ' s Addition, to the centerline of Eleventh Street,
thence east along the centerline of Eleventh Street to the point of beginning.
Section Two. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames , Iowa, is
amended by rezoning from G-C to R-5, land described as:
Beginning at the southeast corner of the south 112 of the north 112 of the SW
1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 11 T83 R24, thence west 1120 feet, thence north
100 feet thence west 198 feet to the centerline of Duff Avenue thence north
along the centerline of Duff Avenue to a point 180 feet south of the northwest
corner of the south 112 of the north 112 of the SW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of
Section 11, T83, R24, thence east 198 feet, thence north 40 feet , thence east
100 feet, thence north 140 feet, thence east 1018.5 feet to the northeast
corner of the S 112 of the N 112 of the SW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 11 ,
T83, R24, thence south to the point of beginning.
Section Three . The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames , Iowa is
amended by rezoning from G-I to A-1, land described as:
Beginning at the center of Section 15 T83N R24, thence N 89°21' E 344.4 feet
along the south boundary of the NE quarter of Section 15 T83N R24, thence N
44°07' W 496.8 feet, thence south to the point of beginning.

Section FoUr. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames , Iowa, is
amended by rezoning from R-2 to R1-6, land described as:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 1 , Southdale Second Addition and
thence north 25 feet to the centerline of Southdale Drive, thence east and
southeast along the centerline of Southdale Drive to the intersection of
Southdale Drive and Garnet Drive, thence northeast and east along the
centerline of Garnet Drive to the intersection of Garnet Drive and Jewel
Drive, thence south along the centerline of Jewel Drive to a point 30 feet
west of the southwest corner of Lot 1, Rolling Meadows Fourth Addition, thence
east 160 feet to the southeast corner of Lot 1 , Rolling Meadows Fourth
Addition , thence south 652.8 feet , thence west 270 feet, thence north 300
feet, thence west to the southwest corner of Lot 17 , Southdale Second
Subdivision, thence north to the point of beginning.
Section Five . The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames , Iowa, is
amended by rezoning from G-I to P-I, land described as:
Beginning at the southwest corner of the SE 1/4, NW 1/4, Sec. 15 T83N R24W,
thence north to the centerline of highway 30 right-of-way, thence easterly
along the centerline of said highway right-of-way to the centerline of the
Chicago Northwestern Railroad right-of-way; thence southwesterly along the
centerline of said railroad right-of-way to the centerline of Airport Road;
thence westerly along the centerline of said right-of-way to the point of
beginning.
Section Six. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames , is amended by
rezoning from R-3 to R-2, land described as:
Commencing at the intersection of the centerline of Kennedy Street with
Ferndale Avenue, thence south 133.88 feet to a point of beginning , thence
southeasterly along the centerline of Ferndale Avenue to the south boundary of
Section 27-84-24, thence west along the south boundary of Section 27-84-24 to
a point directly south of the point of beginning, thence north to the point of
beginning.
Section Seven . The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames , Iowa, is
amended by rezoning from R-2 to R1-6, land described as:
Beginning at the intersection of Grand Avenue and 20th Street, thence east
along the centerline of 20th Street to the intersection of 20th Street and
Douglas Avenue, thence south along the centerline of Douglas Avenue to the
intersection of O' Neil Drive with Douglas Avenue, thence east along the
centerline of O ' Neil Drive to the intersection of O 'Neil Drive and Duff
Avenue, thence south along the centerline of Duff Avenue to the intersection
of Duff Avenue and 16th Street, thence west along the centerline of 16th
Street to the intersection of 16th Street and Grand Avenue thence north to the
point of beginning , except Lots 1, 5, 8, 11 Edgewood Park First Addition and
Lots 1 and 2, Edgewood Park Second Addition.

This Ordinahce will be in effect from and after its passage as required by
law.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repeated to the
extent of such conflict.
