HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Revising Parking Regulations on Hunt Street S ORDINANCE NO. 2901 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SUBSECTION 18.10(2)(c) AND ENACTING A NEW SUBSECTION 18. 10(2)(c) AND REPEALING SUBSECTION 18.23(3)(g) AND ENACTING A NEW SUBSECTION 18.23(3)(g) FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVISING THE REGULATIONS FOR PARKING IN THE 2500 BLOCK OF HUNT STREET TO ALLOW FOR ANGLE PARKING AT THAT LOCATION AND REMOVING THE ALTERNATE STREET PARKING REGULATIONS AT THAT LOCATION; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A PENALTY AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa: Section One. The Municipal Code for the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be and is hereby amended by repealing subsection 18. 10(2)(c) thereof and enacting a new subsection 18. 10(2)(c) as follows: "(c) Angle Parking is permitted on the following streets or portions of streets: (i) Fifth Street on the north side from Carroll Avenue to Duff Avenue (ii) Main Street from Duff Avenue to Clark Avenue (iii) As indicated by markings in municipal parking lots. (iv) Northeast Second Street between East Avenue and Duff Avenue. (v) Des Moines Avenue between East Second Street and East Third Street, on the west side only. (vi) East Third Street on the south side from East Avenue a distance of 70' to the west. (vii) Hunt Street on the south side from Welch Avenue a distance of 182' to the west." Section Two. The Municipal Code is further amended by repealing Subsection 18.23-(3)(g) as it exists and enacting a new Subsection 18.23(3(g) to read as follows: "(g) Hunt Street from Sheldon Avenue to Welch Avenue, except or the south side from the west line of Welch Avenue 182' to the west and except for the north side from the west line of Welch Avenue 100' to the west." 2 Section Three. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall con- stitute a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $100.00 or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed 30 days. Section Four. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section Five.
