HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Revising Urban Revitalization Area No. 2 e � ` r � ORDINANCE NO. 2896 AN ORDINANCE TO REVISE THE BOUNDARY TO URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA NO. 2 BY ADDING AND DELETING TERRITORY; AND, ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 404, Code of Iowa 1983, the governing body of a city may, by ordinance, designate an area of the city as a revitalization area upon the completion of procedures in the law; and, WHEREAS, by ordinance No. 2799 enacted December 15, 1981, a certain area within the city was designated as Urban Revitalization Area No. 2; and, WHEREAS, it is now desired to revise the boundaries of said area by adding and deleting certain territory; and, WHEREAS, notice and hearing has been given and held as required by law for said designation and revision; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa: Section One. In accordance with Chapter 404 Code of Iowa, the area described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the east portion of Hunt Street with Hayward Avenue, thence north along the centerline of Hayward Avenue to a point 33 feet west of the northwest corner of Lot 6 of Block 3 Auditors Plat of Blks. 3, 4 and 5, Beardshear's Addition and Walter's Subdivision, thence east 222.75 feet to the centerline of the alley known as Chamberlain Place, thence south along the centerline of the alley to the centerline of Hunt Street, thence west along the centerline of Hunt Street to the point of beginning. shall be and is hereby designated and added to what is designated and known as Urban Revitalization Area No. 2. Section Two. The area described as follows: Lot 5, Greer's Subdivision and Lot 17 Parkers Addition except the south 79.2 feet of the west 145 feet of Lot 17 Parkers Addition. Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 Lee's Subdivision and beginning at the inter- section of Lincoln Way and Sheldon Avenue, thence south 161 feet along the centerline of Sheldon Avenue, thence west 133 feet, thence north 161 feet to the centerline of Lincoln Way, thence east to the point of beginning. a c 1 shall be and is hereby deleted and removed from what is designated and known as Urban Revitalization Area No. 2. Section Three. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as required by law. Passed this 5th day of June 1984. By (k F.
