AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP BY CHANGIN
SAN L.POTTER.R Deputy
THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF CERTAIN LAND AS HEREIN DESCRIBED,
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa:
SECTION ONE: The Official Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa, is amended by
rezoning from R-2 to R1-6, land described as:
Beginning at the intersection of Ontario Street and North Dakota Avenue,
thence east along the centerline of Ontario Street to a point 35 feet south of
the southeast corner of Woodstock Subdivision, thence north along the east
AREA 4 boundary of Woodstock Subdivision to the north boundary of the
PARCEL 6 Chicago-Northwestern Railroad right-of-way, thence southeasterly along the
north boundary of the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad boundary and the corporate
limits, thence south to the centerline of the Chicago Northwestern Railroad
right-of-way at the point where the corporate limits turns north, thence
southeasterly along the centerline of the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad to the
quarter section line of Sec. 32 T84 R24, thence south to the southeast corner
of the southwest one-quarter of Sec. 32 T84 R24, thence west along the
centerline of Ontario Street to the intersection of Garfield Avenue with
Ontario Street, thence south along the centerline of Garfield Avenue to a
point 30 feet east of the southeast corner of a parcel known as 1005 Garfield
Avenue, thence west, thence north, and thence west along the southern lot line
of 1005 Garfield to the northeast corner of Lot 10, The Union Addition,
thence west 61 feet, thence north 139.7 feet, thence east 32.45 feet, thence
north 104 feet, thence west 40.05 feet, thence north 131.85 feet, thence west
55.75 feet to the centerline of Ross Road, thence west along the centerline of
Ross Road to the intersection of Mesa Verde Place and Ross Road, thence south
along the centerline of Mesa Verde Place to a point 30 feet northwest of the
southwest corner of Lot 5, Union Addition, thence southeasterly along the
north side of a triangle in Lot 5, Union Addition, to the west side of Lot 8,
Sunset Rock First Addition, thence south along the west side of Lot 8 to the
centerline of Phoenix Street, thence westerly along the centerline of Phoenix
Street to the intersection of Phoenix Street and North Dakota Avenue, thence
north along the centerline of North Dakota Avenue to the point of beginning.
This Ordinance will be in effect from and after its passage as required by
law.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to
the extent of such conflict.
