HomeMy WebLinkAboutA006 - Council Action Form, November 23, 1982 COUNCIL ACTION FORM NO: November 23, 1982 SUBJECT: To rezone a parcel (.38 acre) located at the southwest corner of Welch Avenue and Hunt Street from R-4 (Multiple-Family) to P-C (Planned Commercial) BACKGROUND: This request was reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission on November 3, 1982. At that meeting the Commission recommended this request be approved with the stipulation that parking concerns identified by the Public Works Department can be resolved. The memo from Public Works identifying those concerns is attached. The Commission identified the following impermissible uses: 1. Gasoline service station 2. Hotel/Motel 3. Bar/Tavern 4. Restaurant The applicant has identified the following proposed uses for the subject parcel: Mixed-use structure: 1st floor commercial (business or professional office, barber shop, retail store) ; 2nd and 3rd floors (24 efficiency apartments designed for 1 person or couple) ; underground basement parking garage. ALTERNATIVES: 1. Approve the request with the stipulation and impermissible uses as identified by the Planning and Zoning Commission. 2. Approve the request and modify the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission. 3. Deny the request. CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATION: To approve the request with the stipulation and impermissible uses as identified by the Planning and Zoning Commission and set the public hearing date for December 21, 1982.
