June 11, 1982
Dear Mayor Goodland:
I have just read a copy of John McKercher's letter to John Elwell;dated April
27, 1082. It is my opinion that the position of Sundstrand is clearly stated
as to the companies future in Ames.
I also wish to compliment the Electric Utility Advisory Committee for their
recommendation to the Ames City Council regarding a solution to the expiration
of Sundstrand's contract with the Municipal Electric Utility. This appears
to offer both the City and Sundstrand time to work out a solution that will
be equitable to both parties.
We hope the Ames City Council will follow this recommended proceedure. The
risk is too great to treat the matter hurriedly.
Sincerely,
Ted(Tedesco
President of the AMES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
