HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Establishing Alternate Side Parking for Prairie View East ORDINANCE NO. 2822 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION 18.23(2) THEREOF AND ENACTING A NEW SUBSECTION 18.23(2) FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING FOR THE WHOLE LENGTH OF PRAIRIE VIEW EAST; PROVIDING A PENALTY; RE- PEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON- FLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa: Section One. That the Municipal Code for the City of Ames, Iowa shall be and is ere y amended by repealing subsection 18.23(2) as said subsec- tion has existed heretofore and enacting a new subsection 18.23(2) as fol- lows: "(2) From Midnight to 9:00 p.m. : (a) Ash Avenue from a point one hundred (100) feet south of the south line of Lincoln Way to the north line of Knapp Street. (c) Country Club Blvd. from Beach Avenue to Ash Avenue. (d) Delaware Avenue from Ontario Street to Dover Drive on the east side. (e) Ellis Street from Hillcrest Avenue westward 566.5 feet. (f) Gray Avenue from Sunset Drive to Greeley Street. (g) Hillcrest Avenue from West Street to Woodland Street. (h) Howard Avenue from Lincoln Way to West Street. (i) Hyland Avenue from Oakland Street to Lincoln Way. (j) Jewel Drive from South Duff Avenue to Jewel Circle and from Jewel irc a to the south corporation limits. (k) Knapp Street from Sheldon Avenue to Welch Avenue. (1) Prairie View East for its whole length. (m) South Hyland Avenue from Lincoln Way to Arbor Street. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict if any. Section Three. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and a ter its passage and publication as required by law. Section Four. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall be punishable as a simple misdemeanor by a fine not to exceed one hundred (100) dollars or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days.
