AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL COVE OF THE CITY OF
AMES, IOWA' BY REPEALING SECTION 29.15 AS IT NOW EXISTS, STATE OF IOWA, STORY COUNTY, ss.
AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 29.15 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
INCLUDING EXISTING TWO FAMILY DWELLINGS IN THE R1-6
DISTRICT; PROVIDING A PENALTY AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE _

Section One: The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iove shall be xn,i Jacobsen, on oath depose and say that I am

enacting a new Section 29.15 to read as follows:
"Sec. 29.15. RI-6, LOW-DENSITY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT. DAILY TRIBUNE, a daily newspaper, printed at

certain existing two-family dwellings.
(1) Permitted Uses. A.building or premises shall be used
only for the following purposes:
Single-family dwellings

o-family dvellings if constructed or under construction
prior to July 1, 1980 and if designed and built as a
two-family dwelling, not a single-family dwelling
converted to a two-family dwelling, as evidenced by W8S published In said newspaper for 1

(3) Off-street Parking Requirements. Two per unit required
in all single-family dwellings; and all other permitted
uses as required in Sec. 29.40.
Occupancy of a single dwelling unit or of a structure designed
and built as a single-family dwelling by more than three adult
persons not related by marriage or consanguinity is prohibited and
shall constitute a violation of this section."
Section Two. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall con-
stitute a simple misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed One Hundred
Dollars ($100.00) or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed thirty (30)
days.
Section Three. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and publication as required by law.
