ORDINANCE NO. 2802
AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING AN AREA OF AMES, IOWA AS A
REVITALIZATION AREA WHICH SHALL BE KNOWN AS URBAN
REVITALIZATION PLAN AREA NO. 5 Proof of Publication in The
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 404, Code of Iowa 1981; the
governing body of a city may, by completion
designate an area of the city as i AMES DAILY TRIBUNE
a revi-aliza Lion area upon the completion of procedures in the law; and,
WHEREAS- pursuant to the, provisions of.Chapter 404, Cade of.Iowa the City
Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, has, by Resolution No. 81-317 enacted
September 22, 1981, determined, for an area within the city, described
generally as the commercial strip area along South Duff Avenue (See,attached
map.), as follows:
1981.A. That the said area meets the criteria of Section 404.1 Code of Iowa, STATE OF IOWA, STORY COUNTY, ss.
B. That the redevelopment of the said area is necessary in the interest
of the public health, safety or welfare of the residents of the City of Ames,
Iowa; and, I, Robert J.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirement of Sec. 404.2(2) Code of Iowa, the city Jacobsen, on oath depose and say that I am
staff prepared a proposed plan for said Revitalization Area, filed. a,copy
thereof with the -City Development Boa I by the fourteenth day befdre the yEgE ,pbm production foreman of the AMES
first scheduled public hearing, and mailed notice thereof to all owners of
record of property within said Revitalization Area at least 30 days prior to DAILY TRIBUNE, a daily newspaper, printed at
the scheduled hearing; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 404, the Code, a public Ames,Story County,Iowa;that the annexed printed
bearing on the said proposed plan has been held; and, City

City Council Resolution No. 81-375 enacted on November 24, 1981;

Section One. That in accordance with Chapter 404, Code of Iowa, and in
consideration of the recitations set out in the preamble hereof, the area
formed by contiguous real estate parcels with a metes and bounds description
