TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
will meet in the City Council Chambers, Administration Building, Pearle
and Main Streets, Ames, Iowa, at 7:30 p.m. , July 10, 1979, to consider a
proposed ordinance rezoning property located west of Gateway Center Hotel
and south of U.S. 30 (known as Lot 1 of Gateway Center Subdivision) from
A-1 (Agricultural ) to R-2 (Two Family Dwelling).
Your property is not under consideration for rezoning. However, all
interested persons are invited to attend the Ames City Council meeting to
express their opinions either for or against the proposed rezoning.

NOTICE OF HEARING
You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story County,
Iowa, will meet at 7:30 p.m. , July 10, 1979, in the Council Chambers, Administration
Building, Pearle and Main Streets, to consider a proposed amendment to the Official
Zoning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa, by changing the boundaries of the districts
as shown on said map as provided in Section 38-1006 of the Municipal Code of the
City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Rezone from A-1 (Agricultural ) to R-2 (Two Family Dwelling) property
located west of Gateway Center Hotel and south of U.S. 30, known as
Lot 1 of Gateway Center Subdivision, legally described as follows:
A part of the East one-half of Section 16 - T 83 N - R 24 W of the 5th P.M. ,
Story County, Iowa, described as follows: "Beginning at a point on the East-
I-lest centerline of said Section 16, which is 1413.37 feet West of the East 1/4
corner; thence S 00 02' 40" E, 400.0 feet; thence N 891 29' 55" W, 700.84
feet; thence Northeasterly on a 311.0 foot radius curve, concave to the NW
(the long chord bears N 130 15' 10" E, 137.32 feet) an arc distance of 138.46
feet; thence N 00 00' 05" E, 66.0 feet; thence S 890 29' 55" E, 92.0 feet;
thence N 00 00' 05" E, 200.0 feet; thence N 890 29' 55" W, along the North
line of the SE 1/4, 669.2 feet, to the center of Section 16;, thence N 00 05' E,
along the West line of NE 1/4, 1019.4 feet; thence S 880 15' 30" E, 488.8 feet;
thence S 540 00' 15" E, along the Southerly R.O.W. line of Primary Road #30,
600.4 feet; thence S 710 05' 55" E, continuing along said R.O.W. , 285.14 feet;
thence S 00 02' 40" E, 570.21 feet to the Point of Beginning". Lot contains
30.28 Acres.
You are further notified that the ordinance incorporating such change is on file in
the office of the City Clerk. Any interested person may appear for or against the
proposed ordinance.
