(2) By Bertha Moore for land located in the Squaw Creek area east of AEC land to A-1. Honorable Mayor and Members of Council : The Planning and Zoning Commission, during its regular meeting on May 3, 1978, considered the above requests for annexation and zoning and adopted the following motions: (1) That the Commission recommend to the City Council that the voluntary annexation of the 160-acre tract be accepted and that zoning request for R-2 be approved because it is in conformance to the Land Use Policy Plan, because of the scarcity of vacant buildable land within the City, and to make Ames attractive to commercial and industrial development. Voting record of 4-2 is: AYES: Nichol , Bledsoe, Lex, Riis NAYS: Whetstone, Cholvin Kahler was absent (2) That the Commission recommend to the City Council that the voluntary annexation of the 15-acre tract be accepted and that the zoning request for A-1 be approved. Voting record of 4-2 is: AYES: Nichol , Bledsoe, Lex, Riis NAYS: Whetstone, Cholvin Kahler was absent. Combining Education and Industry with Hospitality Honorable Mayor and Members of City Council May 10, 1978 Page Two Please find attached an assortment of reports including recommendations from the Story County Planning & Zoning Commission, the Department of Community Development, and the Department of Public Works. Reportings are provided as required by Resolution No. 78-110 adopted by City Council on March 28, 1978, City department reports were prepared in accordance to criteria and guidelines for voluntary annexation as set forth in the above stated resolution and in accordance to the Land Use Policy Plan of the City of Ames.
