Re: Petition by Donald L. Smith on
behalf of Harold J. Nichols to
rezone property located on the
south side of S. 16th one-eighth
mile west of Kellogg Avenue, from
A-1 to C-2 .
Honorable Mayor and Members of City Council:
The Planning & Zoning Commission, during its regular meeting on
June 7, 1978, considered the above request for rezoning and adopted
the following motion by a 6 to 0 vote (with Lex being absent) :
To accept the staff recommendation and rezone the property
from A-1 to C-3 .
Since this property falls within the clear zone of Runway 1-19, a
maximum structure height of 87 feet is indicated. The Department
recommended the C-3 classification as opposed to the requested C-2
classification since C-2 permits structures of 9 stories or 100 feet
in height. C-3 has height limitations of 3 stories or 40 feet.
Please find attached a copy of the Department' s staff report on this
matter.
