You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Ames, Story
County, Iowa, will meet at 7:30 p.m. , May 16, 1978, in the council chambers,
Administration Building, to consider a proposed amendment to the Official
7oning Map of the City of Ames, Iowa, by changing the boundaries of the
districts as shown on said map as provided in Section 38-1006 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
That the following described real estate, generally bounded on the
north by U.S. 30, on the east by Chicago and Northwestern Railway,
on the south by Airport Road and on the west by Elwood Drive is to
be rezoned by A-1 (Agricultural ) to C-5 (Planned Commercial ) and
from A-1 (Agricultural ) to I-1 (Light Industrial ).
That part of the S 1/2 - NW 1/4 Sec. 15 - Twp 83 - R 24 W of the 5th P.M., Story
County, Iowa, lying North of Airport Road, East of Elwood Drive, and South of U.S.
Highway IT30, described as follows: "Commencing at the Southeast corner of the SW 1/4 -
NW 1/4 of Sec. 15; thence North 87.0 feet to the point of intersection of the East line
of said SW 1/4 - NW 1/4 and the North R.O.W. line of Airport Road, said point being
the Point of Beginning; thence S 890 21' 55" W., parallel to the South line of SW 1/4 -
NW 1 , 81 .9 feet; thence N 00 02' 05" W., parallel to the East line of SW 1/4 -
NW 1/4, 548. 19 feet; thence N 790 10' 15" E., 83.4 feet; thence N 840 33' 10" E.,
along the South R.O.W. line of U.S. Highway #30, 80.85 feet; thence N 850 49' 15" E.
continuing along said R.O.W. line, 490.55 feet; thence S 320 30' 40" W., along the
Northwesterly R.O.W. of C. and NW R.R., 716.65 feet; thence S 890 21' 55" W.,
along the North R.O.W. line Airport Road, 184. 15 feet to the Point of Beginning."
Above tract to be rezoned from A-1 (Agricultural ) to I--1 (Light Industrial ).

285.61 feet; thence N 870 12' 10" W., 761.05 feet; thence N 450 25' 00" W.,
79.5 feet; thence N 380 25' 00" E., 235.45 feet; thence N 730 20' 10" E., 772. 25
feet; thence on a 2211.8 foot radius curve, concave to the South, an arc distance of
222.27 feet (the long chord bearing N 760 20' 31" E., 222. 18 feet); thence S 00 02'
05" E., 548: 19 feet, to the Point of Beginning."
Above tract to be rezoned from A-1 (Agricultural ) to C-5 (Planner; Commercial )
You are hereby notified that the ordinance incorporating such change is on file
in the office of the City Clerk. Any interested person may appear for or
against the proposed ordinance.
