Chantland Dick Cox Ken Brewer Judy Anderson Dan Gerber Jim Seim -- -- The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jim Seim at 3 : 15 p.m. in the Upstairs Conference Room of the Depot Annex. The minutes were approved as printed. Old business involved discussion of city council action of past recommendations of the committee. The first item of new business involved a request to limit parking on one side of Cherry Avenue. The parking problem has been created due to the construction of drainage ditches on each side of the street which limits the parking and driving surface to approximately 20 feet. When vehicles are parked on both sides , it is difficult to traverse the street . Motion by Cox, seconded by Siedelmann to establish no parking anytime on the west side of Cherry Avenue . Motion carried. , The second item of new business involved designation of South Dayton Avenue as a through street. A frontage road has been con- structed along the south side of Lincoln Way that intersects the west side of South Dayton Avenue. In order to provide for stopping the vehicles exiting from this frontage road and from any future entrances onto South Dayton Avenue, it should be designated as a through street. Motion by Cox, seconded by Anderson to revise the existing ordinance designating North Dayton Avenue as a through street and extend the through street designation from the north corporate limits to U. S . Highway 30 . Motion carried. The final item of business was a request from the crossing guard at Lincoln Way and Hickory-Beedle to establish no parking on the east side of Hickory Drive from Lincoln Way to Westbrook Drive. The request indicated that the crossing guard could not see the children on bicycles far enough down the -street . Motion by Anderson, seconded by Cox to deny the request because the 250 feet of straight street was felt to be sufficient distance. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 4 : 00 p .m. The next meeting is set for November 10, 1977 at 3 : 00 p.m. in the Upstairs Conference Room J of the Depot Annex. Respectfully submitted, Paul- D. Wilegand, P. E.
