HomeMy WebLinkAboutA004 - V.A. Fassel letter of objection Timberland Heights Ames, Iowa June 21, 1977 To: City Council Ames, Iowa From the time that the first home was built in the Timberland Heights area the residents have adhered to various convenants so that the natural setting of this fine community would be maintained as much as possible. Many of the residents have also requested voluntary annexation to the City with the belief that the City Council would act responsibly on future land usage decisions. This trust is about to be destroyed if the City Council approves Mr. E. Cochrane's preliminary plans for the Oakwood housing development. I, and other residents of Timberland Heights, do not object to the development of the area into a single family, duplex, and low density apartment residential area. However, we find it difficult to believe that the Council will be acting responsibly if it approves the high density development as now proposed by Mr. Cochrane. Such a develop- ment is not appropriate for this area and would ignore the rights of those who have lived in the Timberland Heights neighborhood for a long time. All that I and others are asking of the City Council is to assume a stance of responsibility in this matter. Yours very truly, '07-/4 V. A. Fassel
