The request for R-2 is for the purpose of construction one and two family dwellings. The proposed plat was viewed and discussed at a recent Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. The zoning scheme in this general area is similar to other parts of Ames. The intersection of Ontario and North Dakota is primarily R-3, with a C-5 site on Ontario Road. R-2 in this requested area is a natural breaking place from R-3 to a lower density district, R-2.
