AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA BY ADDING NEW
SECTIONS 33-7025 , 33-7026 , 33-7027 , and
33-7028 PROVIDING SPEED LIMIT REGULATIONS
ON CARNEGIE AVENUE, WHITNEY AVENUE ,
PULLMAN STREET, AND EDISON STREET; REPEAL-
ING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT OF
SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE .
BE IT ENACTED by the City Council for the City
of Ames , Iowa that:
Section One . The Municipal Code of the City of
Ames , Iowa be and the same is hereby amended by adding new
sections 33-7025 , 33-7026 , 33-7027 , and 33-7028 to read
as follows :
33-7025 Carnegie Avenue
A speed in excess of thirty (30) miles
per hour on Carnegie Avenue from Lincoln
Way to Pullman Street is illegal.
33-7026 Whitney Avenue
A speed in excess of thirty (30) miles
per hour on Whitney .Avenue from Edison
Street to Pullman Street is illegal.
33-7027 Pullman Street
A speed in excess of thirty (30) miles
per hour on Pullman Street from Dayton
Avenue to Carnegie Avenue is illegal.
33-7028 Edison Street
A speed in excess of thirty (30) miles
per hour on Edison Street from Dayton
Avenue to Carnegie Avenue is illegal.
Section Two. All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
Section Three . Violation hereof shall constitute
a misdemeanor.
Section Four. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and publication as required
by law.
