AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING STOP SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF CLARK AVENUE AND
MAIN STREET, AND MEADOWLANE AVENUE AND CARR DRIVE, BY REPEALING CODE SECTIONS
33-11039, AND 33-11021.43 AND ADOPTING IN THEIR PLACE NEW SECTIONS 33-11021.435
33-11039 AND 33-11050. 15; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section One. That sections 33-11039, and 33-11021.43 of the
Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as said sections have heretofore
existed be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section Two. The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, is
further amended by adding thereto new sections 33-11021.43, 33-11039, and
33-11050. 15 to read as follows:
Section 33-11021.43 Clark Avenue
Clark Avenue is designated as a ' through street' from the north
line of Lincoln Way to the south line of Sixth Street, except at
Main Street.
Section 33-11039 Carr Drive and Meadowlane Avenue Intersection
The intersection of Carr Drive and Meadowlane Avenue is hereby
designated as a special stop intersection. Traffic approaching
this intersection from all directions shall stop before entering
the intersection.
Section 33-11050. 15 Clark Avenue and Main Street Intersection
The intersection of Clark Avenue and Main Street is hereby desig-
nated as a ' special stop intersection' . Traffic approaching this
intersection from all directions shall stop before entering the
intersection.
Section Three. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section Four. Violation of this ordinance shall constitute a
misdemeanor.
Section Five. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publication as required by law.
