The Honorable Lee Fellinger
Ames City Council Members
Dear Mayor & City Council Members:
The Ames Parks and Recreation Commission, at their meeting held on
February 13, 1976, concerning the Old Golf and Country Club Property
now known as the Gateway Hills Development, concurr9d with the Plan-
ning and Zoning Commission that the area known as Section 3 (13.4
acres) be acquired in some manner as a part of the overall park in
the area. We also recommend that a part of the formal plan contain
access to Section 2 and Section 3 so that public access is made
available to this property.
The Parks and Recreation Commission has also expressed a definite
interest in the possible future acquisition of the area known as Sec-
tion 4, although this area is not recognized as being under considera-
tion at this time.
Sincerely,
1-2
Marilyn P. Hawthorne, President
Ames Parks & Recreation Commission
