Applicant: Warren Israel Honorable Mayor and Members of City Council : The Planning and Zoning Commission during its regular meeting on December 17, 1976, considered the above request for rezoning and adopted the following motion by a 4-0 vote with Shaughnessy, Shank, and Thurston being absent: That we recommend the I-3 zoning rather than I-1 zoning for the entire tract of Parcel A. and adopted a second motion by the same vote as follows : That Parcel B remain A-1. Industrial classification of this property is consistent with representations made in the Land Use Policy Plan. The recommendation for I-3 zoning for Parcel A by the Commission stems from several considerations. The tract is in close proximity to a residential area to the southeast, which necessitates development controls to assure compatible relationships. Bourns property to the north represents a highly desireable and aesthetic form of industrial development, which should be emulated on the subject tract. The subject tract is immediately adjacent to the airport, and because of this relationship every precaution should be exercised to assure that any development does not conflict with Airport plans and zoning patterns. Combining Education and Industry with Hospitality r . Honorable Mayor and Members of City Council December 22, 1976 Page Two. The Planning and Zoning Commission' s recommendation that Parcel B remain in an A-1 classification also stems from several considerations . These may be deciphered from the attached staff report.
