RE: Rezoning from A-1 to I-1 the
Freel Drive area.
Honorable Mayor and Members of City Council:
On June 11, 1976, the Planning and Zoning Commission considered the above
City-initiated rezoning after having tabled it during its May 14, 1976,
meeting for the purpose of advising residents in that area a little more
thoroughly of the repercussions of such a zoning. However, during the
recent meeting the Commission did approve by a 5-2 vote the following
motion:
That we recommend approval to I-1.
VOTING AYE: Lex, Riis, Nichol, Shank, Cholvin
VOTING NAY: Thurston, Shaughnessy
Those members of the Commission who elected not to approve this motion
expressed concerns about residents not being able to do remodeling or
making additions with present homes since under the I-1 such residences
would be nonconforming uses.
Respectfully,
