ORDINANCE; NO. 2558 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING A FOUR-WAY STOP AT THE INTERSECTION OF BEACH AVENUE WITH SOUTH FOURTH STREET AND CESSNA STREET AND REMOVING THE DESIGNATION OF BEACH AVENUE AS A "THROUGH STREET" AT SAID INTERSECTION, BY REPEALING SECTION 33-11021 . 12 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADOPTING IN ITS PLACE NEW SECTIONS 33-11021 .12 AND 33-11051; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING A PENALTY, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. That Section 33-11021 . 12 of the Municipal Code of Ames , Iowa, as said section has heretofore existed be and the same is hereby repealed. Section 2 . The Municipal Code of the City of Ames , Iowa, is further amended by adding thereto new Sections 33-11021. 12 and 33-11051 to read as follows : Section 33-11021. 12 Beach Avenue Beach Avenue is designated a "through street" from the south line of Lincoln Way to Elwood Drive, except at South Fourth Street and Cessna Street. Section 33-11051 Beach Avenue and South Fourth and Cessna Streets Intersection The intersection of Beach Avenue and South Fourth and Cessna Streets is hereby designated as a special stop intersection. Traffic approaching this inter- section from all directions shall stop before entering this intersection. Section 3 . All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflic herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4 . Violation of this ordinance shall constitute a misdemeanor . Section 5 .
