RE: Mary Carr, et al. , request for
rezoning of property bounded
by South Washington Avenue,
South Third Street and South
Fourth Street.
Honorable Mayor and Members of City Council:
The Planning and Zoning Commission during its meeting of March 12, 1976,
considered a request for change of zoning from C-2 to R-4 for the above
named petitioner and location, and took the following action:
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommends that the area be
rezoned to R-4 with consideration of going to R-3 or R-2 as
quickly as possible for the entire area.
The motion made by Nichol, seconded by Riis, was voted on as follows:
AYES: Cholvin, Thurston, Nichol, Shaughnessy, Shank, Riis. NAYS:
None. ABSENT: Lex.
The Commission expressed concern about Mrs. Lokken's investment in
the area and suggested that, perhaps, a land swap could be worked
out with city-owned property in front of Gulliver's, which is zoned
C-2. The Commission also encouraged the -planning staff to continue
to work with the residents of the area in the development of zoning
plans.
Respectfully,
Patrick J. Switz, Jr.
