HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Establishing a Limited Parking Area Across from Crawford School • J fr N r t ORDINANCE NO. 2535 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 33-13067 AND 33-13068 AS SAID SECTION HAVE HERETOFORE EXISTED AND ENACTING NEW SECTIONS 33-13067 AND 33-13068 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING A LIMITED PARKING AREA ACROSS FROM CRAWFORD SCHOOL; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING A PENALTY AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. That the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby amended by repealing Sections 33-13067 and 33-13068 thereof, as said sections have heretofore existed. Section 2 . That the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby further amended by enacting new Sections 33-13067 and 33-13068 to read as follows : Sec. 33-13067 . Limit imposed; signs required. Except as otherwise provided herein, the parking of vehicles on all weekdays, except holidays, between the hours of 8: 00 a.m. and 5 : 00 p.m. is limited to five (5) minutes on streets designated as having a five (5) minute limit. Signs shall be posted thereon indicating such limit. Sec. 33-13068 . Locations specified. Parking is limited as provided in Section 33-13067 on the following streets and parts of streets and in the following locations: Street or location From To Side Kellogg Avenue South line of First Parking East Sixth Street meter stall south Kellogg Avenue North line of South line of West during all hours east and west Sixth Street of every day alley between Fifth and Sixth Streets Stanton Avenue South line of North line of East first driveway the third south of Knapp driveway south Street of Knapp Street Section 3 . All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4 . Violation of this ordinance shall constitut a misdemeanor. y -2- Section 5 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as required by law.
