AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 16 OF' THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY
OF AMES, IOWA; REPEALING SECTION 16-1018; ESTABLISHING A NEW
SECTION TO BE NUMBERED 16-1018 PROVIDING FOR THE FREQUENCY OF
GARBAGE COLLECTION ; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE .
IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES,
I OW A:
Section 1 . Section 16-1018 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Ames , Iowa, as hithertc existing is hereby repealed.
Section 2 . A. new sectionn to be numbered 16-1018 is
hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows :
(a) Collections of garbage from private
residences shall be made not less than two
(2) times per week, except that for a
residence that is scheduled for collection on
a day which is also a holiday observed by
garbage collectors and garbage collector
employees , collection from said residences
need be made only once during the week of
such holiday.
(b) Collection of garbage from hotels ,
restaurants, clubs , boarding houses or
other places of like character where consider-
able garbage is produced daily shall be
made on each week day except for those days
which are holidays as described in section (a) .
Section 3 . All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4 . This ordinance is in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
