HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Vacating an Alley in Block Two, Black's Second Addition ORDINANCE NO. 2365 AN ORDINANCE VACATING AN ALLEY THAT SEPARATES LOTS SEVEN, TEN AND ELEVEN FROM LOTS EIGHT, NINE AND TWELVE OF BLOCK TWO (2) , BLACKS SECOND ADDITION TO AMES, IOWA, PRESENTLY THE LINCOLN SCHOOL PROPERTY ON SOUTH KELLOGG AVENUE; RELEASING ALL TITLE AND INTEREST IN SUCH AREAS TO THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNER AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED TO THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNER; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. The following described alley in Ames, Story County, Iowa, is hereby vacated to the adjacent property owner: A twenty foot (20 ') wide strip in the center of the block located between Sherman and South Kellogg Avenue, commencing at the North edge of South Second Street northbound to the South edge of the alley running East and West between South Kellogg Avenue and South Sherman Avenue between South Second Street and Lincoln Way, said alley further described as presently separating Lots Seven, Ten and Eleven from Lots Eight, Nine and Twelve, Block Two (2) , Black 's Second Addition to Ames, Iowa. Section 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, a Quit Claim Deed to the abutting property owner, and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to make a certified copy of this ordinance and attach it to the deed. Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4.
