AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER #18 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
CITY OF AMES, IOWA; REPEALING SECTIONS 18-1004 AND 18-1005;
ESTABLISHING NEW SECTIONS TO BE NUMBERED 18-1004 AND 18-1005
PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR AND
SETTING FORTH REPORTS REQUIRED OF THE ADMINISTRATOR; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES,
IOWA:
Section 1. Sections 18-1004 and 18-1005 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Ames , Iowa, as hitherto existing are hereby
repealed.
Section 2 . New sections to be numbered 18-1004 and 18-1005
are hereby added to Chapter #18 of the Municipal Code of the City
of Ames , Iowa, as follows:
Sec. 18-1004. Appointment, general duties of
administrator.
The City Council with the advice of the Hospital
Advisory Board shall appoint a hospital administrator,
who shall be the head of all personnel employed by
the city at the hospital, and shall have full charge
of the management and control of the hospital subject
to the laws of the State of Iowa, pertinent ordinances
and resolutions , and policy directives of the City
Council.
Sec. 18-1005. Reports of administrator required.
The administrator shall render written or oral reports
to the City Council as often as may be necessary to
assure that Council members are currently informed
as to the operation of the hospital. In addition,
the administrator shall submit an annual report to
the City Council and the Hospital Advisory Board
during the month of January of each year on the
previous year' s hospital activities.
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by
law.
