HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Prohibiting Demonstrating to Interfere with Administration of Justice ORDINANCE NO. 2357 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES , IOWA, ENACTING A NEW SECTION TO BE NUMBERED 24-1041. 1; PRO- HIBITING PICKETING, PARADING OR DEMONSTRATING TO INTERFERE WITH THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. A new section to be numbered 24-1041. 1 is hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows : Sec. 24-1041. 1. Interferring with the administration of justice. Whoever, with the intent of interferring with, obstruct- ing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness , or court officer, in the discharge of his duty pickets or parades in or near a building housing a court of the City of Ames , or in or near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness or court officer, or with such intent uses any sound truck or similar device or resorts to any other demonstration in or near any such building or residence, is guilty of a misdemeanor. Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith. are hereby repealed. Section 3.
