lIAN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE III , CHAPTER 36 OF THE MUNICIPAL
1 CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, ESTABLISHING A NEW SECTION TO
BE NUMBERED 36-3004; ESTABLISHING THE RATES AT WHICH CHARGES
WILL BE MADE FOR WATER AND SERVICE SUPPLIED BY THE WATER UTILITY
TO MULTIPLE DWELLINGS AND MOBILE HOME PARKS; REPEALING ALL
! ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND
JESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES,

Section 1. A new section to be numbered Section 36-3004
� is hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa,
and is as follows:
Sec. 36-3004. Multiple Dwellings-Mobile Home Parks .
Multiple dwellings, including mobile home parks , may
be serviced from a single meter. However, the minimum
charge will be one dollar and seventy-five cents ($1. 75)
multiplied by the number of dwelling units serviced
from the meter. For this minimum charge, there will be
a monthly total minimum allowance of 300 cubic feet of
water multiplied by the number of dwelling units ser-
viced from the meter. Rate charges for water metered
in excess of this minimum allowance will be in accord-
ance with the rate schedule, starting at the second
step, as set forth in Sec. 36-3002. For the purposes
of this section a dwelling unit is defined as a self
contained living facility (i.e. , including kitchen
and bath) such as an apartment or a licensed independent
mobile home space.
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance is in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
