AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER #33 CITED AS "THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE '
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, REPEALING SECTIO
33-7008 ; ESTABLISHING A NEW SECTION DESIGNATED 33-7008 ESTABLISH-
ING SPEED LIMITS ON LINCOLN WAY CONSISTENT WITH SPEED LIMITS SET
BY THE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSI0N; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES,
IOWA:
Section 1. Section 33-7008 of the Municipal Code of the
City of Ames , Iowa, as hitherto existing is hereby repealed.
Section 2. A new section to be numbered Section 33-7008 i
hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows :
Sec. 33-7008 . Lincoln Way. A speed in excess of fifty-
five (55) miles per hour on Lincoln Way from a point 285 feet
East of the center line of Dayton Avenue to the center line of
Carnegie Avenue is unlawful; a speed in excess of forty-five (45)
miles per hour on Lincoln Way from the center line of Carnegie
Avenue to a point 3 , 003 feet East of the center line of Duff Ave-
nue is unlawful; a speed in excess of thirty (30) miles per hour
on Lincoln Way from a point 3 , 003 feet East of the center line of
Duff Avenue to the East line of North Riverside Drive is unlawful
a speed in excess of thirty-five (35) miles per hour on Lincoln
Way from the East line of North Riverside Drive to the center lin
of Beach Avenue is unlawful; a speed in excess of thirty (30) miles
per hour on Lincoln Way from the center line of Beach Avenue to
the West line of Sheldon Avenue is unlawful ; a speed in excess of
thirty-five (35) miles per hour on Lincoln Way from the West line
of Sheldon Avenue to the West line of Marshall Avenue is unlawful
and a speed in excess of fifty-five (55) miles per hour on },incolt
Way from the West line of Marshall Avenue to a point 200 feet Wes*
of the West line of North Dakota Avenue is unlawful. (Iowa States,

Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4 . This ordinance is in full force and effect frol
and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
