HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 33 of Municipal Code; Designating Special Stop Intersections r ORDINANCE .NO. 2310 { AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER #33 CITED AS "THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE" OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF ANTES, IOWA, REPEALING SEC- TIONS 33-9035 and 33-9036; ESTABLISHING NEW SECTIONS DESIGNATED 33-11050 . 15 , 33-11050. 16 , 33-11050 .17 , 33-11050 .18 , 33-11050 .19 , 33-11050 . 20 and 33-11050 . 21, DESIGNATING THE INTERSECTIONS OF CLARK AND MAIN STREET, CLARK AND FIFTH STREET, BURNETT AND MAIN STREET, BURNETT AND FIFTH STREET, DOUGLAS AND MAIN STREET, DOUGLAS AND FIFTH STREET, AND KELLOGG AND FIFTH STREET SPECIAL STOP INTER- SECTIONS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON- FLICT HEREWITH AiT" ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. Sectiors 33-9035 and 33-9036 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as hitherto existing are hereby repealed. Section 2 . A new section to be numbered 33-11050 .15 is added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames , Iowa, as follows :; Sec. 33-11050 .15 . Clark Avenue and Main Street Intersection. The intersection of Clark Avenue and Main Street is hereby desig- nated as a special stop intersection. Traffic approaching this intersection from Clark Avenue shall stop before entering the intersection. Section 3 . A new section to be numbered 33-11050 .16 is added to the "unicinal Code of the City of Ames , Iowa, as follows : Sec. 33-11050 .16 . Clark Avenue and Fifth Street Intersection. The intersection of Clark Avenue and Fifth Street is hereby desig- nated as a special stop intersection. Traffic approaching this intersection from Clark Avenue shall stop before entering the intersection. Section 4 . A new section to be numbered 33-11050 .17 is added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames , Iowa, as follows Sec. 33-11050 .17. Burnett Avenue and Main Street Inter- section. The intersection of Burnett Avenue and Main Street is hereby designated as a special stop intersection. Traffic approach- ing this intersection from Burnett Avenue shall stop before enter- ing the intersection. Section 5 . A new section to be numbered 33-11050 .18 is added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows Sec. 33-11050 . 18 . Burnett and Fifth Street Intersection. The intersection of Burnett Avenue and Fifth Street is hereby designated as a special stop intersection. Traffic approaching this intersection from Burnett Avenue shall stop before entering the intersection. Section 6 . A new section to be numbered 33-11050 .19 is added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames , Iowa,as follows: Sec. 33-11030 . 19 . Douglas Avenue and Main Street Inter- section. The intersection of Douglas Avenue and Main Street is hereby designated a special stop intersection. Traffic approach- ing this intersection from Douglas Avenue shall stop before enter ing the intersection. Section 7 . A new section to be numbered 33-11050 . 20 is added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames , Iowa, as follows Sec . 33-11050 . 20 . Douglas Avenue and Fifth Street Inter- section. The intersection of Douglas Avenue and Fifth Street is hereby designated as a special stop intersection. Traffic Z approaching this intersection from Douglas Avenue shall stop befo e entering the intersection. -2- Section 8 . A new section to be numbered 33-11050 . 21 is added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Sec. 33-11050 . 21. Kellogg Avenue and Fifth Street Inter- section. The intersection of Kellogg Avenue and Fifth Street is hereby designated as a special stop intersection. Traffic approach- ing this intersection from all directions shall stop before enter- ing the intersection. Section 9 . All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 10 .
