HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Repealing Section 37-3010 of Municipal Code; Establishing Bus Fares • ` j ORDINANCE NO. �2306 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 37-3010 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA; ESTABLISHING A NEW SECTION TO BE NUMBERED SECTION 37-3010; ESTABLISHING NEW MAXIMUM FARES AUTHORIZED FOR A JITNEY OR MOTOR BUS ; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DAT . IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. Section 37 --3010 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames , Iowa, as hitherto existing is hereby repealed. Section 2. A new section to be numbered 37-3010 is hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, and is as follows : Sec. 37-3010. Fare. It shall be unlawful for any operato of a jitney or motor bus operating under a license as hereinafter provided for to charge any passenger to exceed thirty (30) cents for a continuous ride, provided however, that the operator shall upon request sell tickets or tokens , good for ten (10) continuous rides for the sum of Two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($2. 50) , and school tickets or tokens, good for ten (10) continuous rides for f the sum of Two Dollars ($2.00) . Section 3 . All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. This ordinance is in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 2nd day of September 1969. Louise Whitcome, City Clerk Stuart N.
