AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE CF THE
CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTION 24-1035 OF THE MUN-
ICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA; ESTABLISHING NEW SECTIONS
TO BE NUMBERED SECTIONS 24-1034. 1, 24-1035, AND 24-1035. 1, MAKING
IT A MISDEMEANOR TO FREQUENT A HOUSE OF ILL FAME, TO KEEP AN
ILLEGAL HOUSE, AND TO FREQUENT OR BE FOUND UPON THE PREMISES OF
AN ILLEGAL HOUSE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCE
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES,
IOWA:
Section 1. Section 24-1035 of the Municipal Code of the
City of Ames, Iowa, as hitherto existing is hereby repealed.
Section 2. New sections to be numbered 24-1034. 1, 24-
1035 and 24-1035. 1 are hereby added to the Municipal Code of the
City of Ames , Iowa, as follows :
Sec. 24-1034. 1. Same--Frequenting.
Any person who resorts to, frequents or becomes an in-
mate of any house of ill fame, or resorts to any house,
rooms, apartment, hotel, building, tourist court, or
place, within the city, for a lewd or immoral purpose,
is guilty of a misdemeanor.
Sec. 24-1035. Illegal House--Keeping.
Any person who keeps, maintains, or conducts a house,
shop, building, or place within the city, for the
purpose of use, sale, storage, or distribution of opium,
hasheesh, marijuana or other narcotics is guilty of
a misdemeanor.
Sec. 24-1035. 1. Same--Frequenting.
Any person who frequents or is found at a house, shop,
building, or place within the city used for the purpose
of use, sale, storage, or distribution of opium, hasheesh,
or marijuana or other narcotics is guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 3 . All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance is in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
