HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 33 of Municipal Code; Prohibiting Parking ORDINANCE NO. 2298 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 33 CITED AS "THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE" OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, REPEALING SECTIONS 33-13052. 9 AND 33-13052. 17; ESTABLISHING NEW SECTIONS TO BE NUMBER- ED 33--13052. 9 AND 33-13052. 17 ; PROVIDING FOR NO PARKING AT ALL TIMES ON BOTH SIDES OF THIRTEENTH STREET FROM THE EAST CORPORATE LIMITS TO THE IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY LAND, AND ON BOTH SIDES OF BEACH AVENUE FROM LINCOLN WAY TO THE SOUTH CORPORATE LIMITS ; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. Sections 33-13052. 9 and 33-13052. 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames , Iowa, as hitherto existing are hereby repealed. Section 2. New sections to be numbered Section 33-13052. 91 and 33-13052. 17 are hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames , Iowa, as follows : Sec. 33--13052. 9. Thirteenth Street. Parking is prohibited on both sides of Thirteenth Street from the East corporate limits to the Iowa State University land (extension of center line of Section 3 , Township 83N, Range 24W) . Sec. 33-13052. 17 . Beach Avenue. Parking is prohibited at all times on both sides of Beach Avenue from Lincoln Way to the South corporate limits . Section 3 . All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. This ordinance will be in full force and effect from and after August 20, 1969, following its passage and pub- lication as required by law. Passed this lst day of July 1969.
