PUBLIC NOTICE
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the City Council of the City of
Ames, Iowa, proposes to amend the Official Zoning Map of the
City of Ames, Iowa, by changing the boundaries of the districts
established and shown on said Map as provided in Section 38-1006
of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, thereby
transferring the following described property:
Lots 4 through 16, Block 1, Lee and Little 's Addition;
Lots 3 through 8, Block 2, Lee and Little 's Addition; and
Lots 1 through 8, Block 3, Lee and Little 's Addition; or
properties located along Welch Avenue south of Knapp Street,
from "R-2 District (Two Family Dwelling) " to "R-4 District
(Multiple Family Dwelling) " and shall be governed by all
the provisions and regulations pertaining to the "R-4
District (Multiple Family Dwelling) ".
A tract of land beginning at a point 327.6 feet South
00 43 ' East of the Northwest Corner Section 24, Township
83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th p.m. , Story County,
Iowa, thence South 00 43 ' East 1, 314.4 feet, thence
North 890 30 ' East 270 feet, thence North 00 43 ' West
782.8 feet, thence North 270 36 ' West 597.5 feet to
the point of beginning, containing 6.5 acres more or less;
or properties located East of the proposed extension of
Jewell Drive, from "R-1 District (Single Family Dwelling) "
to "R-2 (Two Family Dwelling) " and shall be governed by
all the provisions and regulations pertaining to the
"R-2 District (Two Family Dwelling) ".
Lots 14 through 17, Caylor's Second Addition; or properties
located to the rear of Twentieth Century Bowling on
South Duff Avenue, from "A-1 District (Agricultural) "
to "C-2 (General Commercial) " and shall be governed by all
the provisions and regulations pertaining to the "C-2
District (General Commercial) " .
A tract of land beginning at the Northwest Corner of Lot
18, Caylor's Second Addition to the City of Ames, Iowa;
thence S890 54' 40" E along the north line of said Lot 18,
193.8 feet to the Southwest Corner of Lot 17; thence
North along the west line of Lots 17, 16, 15 and 14,
461.1 feet, to the Northwest Corner of Lot 14, thence
N890 47 ' 30 " W along the south line of South Fifth Street
produced from the east a distance of 193.8 feet, thence
South 461.6 feet to the point of beginning, or properties
located at 505, 517 and 527 South Duff Avenue, from "I-1
District (Light Industrial) " to "C-2 District (General
Commercial) " and shall be governed by all the provisions
and regulations pertaining to the "C-2 District (General
Commercial) ".
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that proposed ordinances incorporate g
such changes are now on file in the office of the City Clerk,
Ames, Iowa, and that a public hearing on the adoption of said
ordinances will be held before the City Council of Ames, Iowa,
in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Ames, Iowa, at 7 :30 P.M.,
CST, on the 17th day of December, 1968. Any interested persons
may appear for or against these proposed ordinances.
