ORDINANCE NO. 2267
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 33-13052. 27 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA; ESTABLISHING A NEW SECTION TO BE
NUMBERED SECTION 33-13052. 27, PROHIBITING PARKING ON DUFF AVENUE
ON BOTH SIDES FROM THE SOUTH CORPORATE LIMITS TO SIXTEENTH
STREET; RESTRICTING PARKING ON BOTH SIDES FROM SIXTEENTH STREET
TO TWENTIETH STREET; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES,
IOWA:
Section 1. Section 33-13052. 27 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Ames , Iowa, as hitherto existing, is hereby repealed.
Section 2. A new section to be numbered 33-13052 . 27 is
hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City of Ames , Iowa, and
is as follows :
Sec. 33-13052 . 27. Duff Avenue. Parking is prohibited on
Duff Avenue on both sides from the South corporate limits
to Sixteenth Street, and from Sixteenth Street to Twentieth
Street from 6 :00 a.m. to 6 :00 p.m. ; provided however ,
that parking may be permitted in specifically designated
areas back of the curb line, and further provided that
parking shall be prohibited on minor street approaches
for a distance of thirty-five (35) feet in advance of a
stop sign and on exit sides of the minor streets for a
distance of thirty-five (35) feet back of the crosswalks .
Section 3 . All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance is in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
